The tabernacles or tents that Peter wanted to build for Jesus, Moses,
and Elijah are now built for us by God when this church becomes God’s temple in
which ordinary bread and wine are transformed into the sacrificed body and
blood of Christ. The elements of the Holy Communion become for us and all God’s
people that heavenly manna to sustain us in our exodus as we pass with Moses
through the sea and with Jesus through His death into Canaan and the promised
land of the resurrection, so that we are transformed and transfigured into the
likeness of His glory.
